Not my area, but from the machine gun it is Soviet, so perhaps a T-80

Hello Chuck Hill,

close but no cigar.
It certainly has Soviet ancestry but check out the main gun.

I have been reading your coast guard blog, your approach to drug smuggling was very interesting.

Leopard at an odd angle.

Hello steve,

it is not a Leopard,it is a little bit more exotic than that.
Maybe a second picture will help.

A Pakistani Al-Khalid?

Yep,

It's an Al-Khalid. An original picture follows:

Hello,

unfortunately, whoever posted that picture got the tank's name wrong.

It is not an Al Khalid!

Nice try though.

OK,

Perhaps a Chinese Type 96.

Or, a Bengladeshi Yatanga...

Those were the other options I encountered.

It sure ain't an IDF Merkava or a Russian / Indian T-90.

Hello De.E.Reddick,

there are none of these in Bangladesh that I am aware of and it is not a Type 96.

You are however very close in one way at least!

T-84-120 Yatagan
Ukrainian export to Turkey

Jeez,

Anonymous has it right. I'm mildly / slightly dyslexic. I wrote Yatanga rather than Yatagan...

Export

Bangladesh: In 2007 the Bangladesh Army began negotiations for the procurement of 76 T-84 Yatagan tanks in the first batch. The Bangladesh Army intends to induct a substantial number of Yatagans (200 to 300) over the next several years as part of its third generation main battle tank procurement program.

Hello Ananymous,

Yatagan it is.
D.E.Reddick very nearly got it.
Bangladesh hasn't ordered them yet as far as I know.
Time for another.
