The War In Ukraine: The Infantry Is Obsolete

But will a video of a Ukrainian infantry section attacking Russian infantrymen, who apparently drove a convoy of soft skinned civilian vehicles to within yards of the enemy without posting any security, convince transformationalists that the infantry is obsolete?

The War In Ukraine: Starstruck

Over twenty years after entering service with the British Army, the elderly Starstreak missile has been fired in anger for the first time,by the Ukrainian armed forces, apparently accounting for a Russian Mil Mi-28 Havoc attack helicopter, but within An Independent Army For An Independent Nation the proposed replacement for both the Starstreak and Javelin missiles is the Short Range Multirole Missile,a man portable weapon system (held in a platoon at battalion level, with one section of two systems per company),which is designed to engage both aircraft and armoured vehicles out to a range of five miles.

The War In Ukraine: A Voice In The Wilderness

The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament Menwith Hill Day of Action on the 16th of October 2011

While Ukrainian men, drunk on toxic masculinity, give in to their primitive urges and resort to violence, the Campaign for Nulcear Disarmament has identified the "true heroes" of the current unpleasantness with Russia: "our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine and with all those courageously protesting against war";"we send our solidarity in particular to those suffering arrest as a result";"they are not alone",they add that there "is no possibility whatsoever that war will resolve these complex problems, and it might end with the destruction of humanity",a sentiment clearly shared by the Royal Navy, which flies the same battle ensign.

The War In Ukraine: The Eye Of The Beholder

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraines estimate of Russian combat losses from the 24th of February to the 25th of March 2022

During the current unpleasantness the Ukrainian armed forces claim to have killed sixteen thousand and one hundred Russian soldiers and to have destroyed sixteen hundred and twenty-five Russian light Armoured Personnel Vehicles and five hundred and sixty-one Russian medium tanks,to a transformationalist this means that heavy Main Battle Tanks are obsolete and that infantry and light Armoured Personnel Vehicles are the future.

Russia Buys Mistrals

Reuters is reporting that Russia has finally placed a long talked about order for French Mistral class assault ships.

France is to build 2 of the vessels with the other 2 being built in Russia.

It is interesting that a country with one of the World's largest land borders feels the need for such amphibious ships to deploy it's troops.

The article says that 2 French made ships will cost (U.S.) $1,520 Million ((U.K.) £944 Million) or $760 Million (£474 Million) each.

It is not clear if this figure includes any licensing fee or other costs relating to the 2 ships to be built in Russia but it makes an interesting comparison with the cost of British and American amphibious vessels.
