It's either the HMS Amy Winehouse or USS Lindsey Lohan. Oh wait, those are famous "trainwrecks" not "shipwrecks". Anyway, looks like a two turrent monitor like USS Onondaga. Just can't find which one.

Did I sat "turrent" instead of "turret"? Sorry, small brain.

Very interesting, thanks not sure she was that great an improvement over the US Civil War twin turret monitors.

Hello Chuck Hill,

the intention was that the "breastwork monitors" would have better sea keeping,a weakness demonstrated by Monitor herself.

They seem to have worked well enough,H.M.S.Abyssinia self deployed to India.

Though some non breastwork monitors also did long sea passages.

None of them looked very sea worthy. Several of the American monitors also made long sea voyages. To Britain, the Pacific and South America.

All looked rather dodgy. Apparently Cerberus had a hard time making it to Australia.

Weather forecasting was of course non-existent. Must have been very scary.

I have to ask, is it supposed to be under water?

It was an early semi-submersible.

Hello TheRaging Tory,

it was sunk as a breakwater and it has been sinking further ever since.
If they don't recover it soon there will be little left:

You will have to stick both parts of that link together.
