Ship Spotting

It's not dazzle paint but it is camouflage.

What is it?

Is it the former USN four-stacker destroyer in RN service which was converted into a deceptive configuration to allow her to enter a NAZI-occupied French port and destroy a dry-dock?

I can't immediately recall the ship's name or the battle.

I should have thought about it some more...

HMS Campbeltown - used in the St. Nazaire Raid.

Missed my shot at this one.

It is a very famous photo.

She was disguised to look like a Moewe class torpedo boat (small destroyer)
