Hello Chuck Hill, there is not much history available about this ship but as far as I am aware, this is how she was originally completed and how she stayed for thirty years or more.I have no idea what she looked like for the next fifty years.GrandLogistics.
Is it the HMS Excellent/Dryad/Drudge - a small gunboat used for weapons trials between 1887 - 1920? It was renamed a bunch of times for some reason.
Hello Anonymous, yes, she is H.M.S. Drudge,a very imposing looking vessel.Started life testing guns, taken over by the navy spending years as a gunnery school then retired from naval service in her thirties to serve another 50 years in civilian life. She probably out lived most of her crew.It would be interesting to know if she ever saw combat.
